FAQ

Common Questions

Do I need any prior experience to take this course?
No prior security experience is required, though basic IT knowledge (how networks work, familiarity with Windows/Linux) is helpful. We recommend having the equivalent of 2 years of IT administration experience, but many students without that background have passed by working through the material twice.
How is the exam structured?
The SY0-701 exam consists of up to 90 questions (multiple-choice and performance-based) with a 90-minute time limit. The passing score is on a scaled rubric, typically around 750 on a 100–900 scale. Our course includes PBQs (performance-based questions) that simulate the format.
What if I don't pass the exam?
If you don't pass, we offer a free retake of the course materials and a discounted voucher for your next attempt. Our 89% first-attempt pass rate means most students won't need this — but we have you covered if you do.
How long do I have access to the course?
Lifetime access. Pay once, access forever. CompTIA updates the Security+ exam roughly every 3 years — when that happens, we update the course materials at no additional charge.
Is the exam voucher included?
Yes. One CompTIA Security+ SY0-701 exam voucher is included in your enrollment. You schedule the exam at a Pearson VUE testing center or take it online with a proctor. The voucher is valid for 12 months from the date of enrollment.
What's your refund policy?
Full refund within 30 days if you haven't completed more than 30% of the course materials. After that, no refund — but you keep lifetime access. We're confident in the course quality; the 30-day window exists so you can verify it works for you.
